Daniel Rodriguez Hijo
Actor for twelve years, director for ten, and playwright for seven, Daniel is the tireless project lead for The PC Trinity Theatre Company and the Vice-President of Theatre for the Plain City Music, Arts, & Theatre Society.

Daniel's thoughts on theatre:
"Theatre, as we know it, is a dying art form. But that's not because it is lesser in any way, or that it has simply become obsolete over time; it's because it has lost touch with the larger audience. Theatre, and all of its related performing arts, are incredibly important forms of expression and humanity. Sadly, it is a form of expression kept tightly in the hands of those with a high income and centralized in two main US cities. Steeped in classism, politics, and heavy capitalization, theatre has gone from a communion event that everyone could take part in to an industry built upon pandering to those with fat wallets and proselytizing small theatres to be mere mimics of the big guys. In short, theatre, from community to professional, has lost its wide appeal because it puts quantitative perfection over creativity, community, and accessibility. My goal is to save theatre from itself and bring it back to form by placing it back into the hands of the smaller communities. By working out of a village in central Ohio, creating theatre and productions that serve the community, I hope to serve as an example for a new age of original, economically effective and community-focused theatre. I also hope, as a director, to enable my actors with the tools they need to succeed in theatre and their equivalents to have a fulfilling and enriched life."
